Executive Summary: Shortline Crossing is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the local community by providing essential resources and support services. Our center aims to foster a sense of community, offer assistance to those in need, and promote personal growth and well-being. Through a range of programs and services including a food pantry, clothing closet, indoor playground, free childcare, counseling and recovery services, and various community classes, we aim to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families.

Mission Statement: To provide a welcoming and supportive environment where individuals and families can access essential resources, receive guidance and counseling, and participate in educational and recreational activities that promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, rooted in Christian values of compassion, service, and love.

 

Services & Programs:

Food Pantry: Distribute food to those in need on a regular basis, partnering with local food banks, businesses, and donors to ensure a steady supply of goods.

 Clothing Closet: Maintain a free clothing closet that provides gently used clothing for individuals and families in need - also including professional attire for job interviews, prom closet, toys, and other items as they are donated.

Indoor Playground and Free Childcare: Children can enjoy a safe and stimulating environment where they can play and interact with others while their parents or caregivers access other services or attend classes. Offer free childcare during designated hours to support parents and caregivers.

Counseling and Recovery Support Services: Trained counselors provide group counseling sessions,  support groups and recovery programs for individuals dealing with addiction, trauma, grief, or other challenges.  Also offering individual counseling,  marriage counseling, premarital counseling, family counseling and other related services as defined by the community need.   

Teen Hangout: Create a dedicated space for teenagers to socialize, play games, and participate in group activities. Offer mentorship programs, leadership development opportunities, and life skills workshops tailored to the needs of teens.

Community Classes: Host a variety of classes and workshops designed to educate and empower community members. Topics may include parenting skills, financial management, job readiness, healthy cooking, stress management, spiritual growth, dance, painting, drawing, graphic design, website design, computer programming, robotics, music instrument and vocal instruction.

Dinner Theater Church:  Provide a family atmosphere where community residents can receive a free meal, music and a Christ-centered message.
